Mallory

I thought Mallory was supposed to start slimming down once she started walking? It seems as though that big ole tummy is just getting bigger!

She is starting be a help around the house. If there is a random piece of paper within her reach, she will bring it to me. And when I tell her it’s time to feed Cooper, she takes my finger to walk to the closet where we keep Cooper’s food. Then she helps by offering Cooper his “black pill” (fancy arthritis medicine) and will help me find Cooper’s dish. It is almost always in the same spot, but Cooper must have moved it this morning while having breakfast so it threw her off a little but when she found it, she bent down and tapped her finger in the dish, as if to say “put the food right there, mama”.

Today was pajama day at daycare – how hysterical to see all the kids (and teachers!) in their pajamas!! I got this email from Mallory’s friend Alli’s mom today:

“The girls were SO cute this morning. Alli was sad and not wanting me to leave, so she stood there with big tears in her eyes. Mallory came over to check things out, and the two of them, in their jammies, stood right in front me of with their arms out to be picked up. Instead, I squatted down in front of them, and one ran into each of my arms. Talk about wanting to make me skip work!!!”

The girls are so so funny at school together. The teachers tell me that you can’t have one without the other. They still fight over Miss Mary’s lap but other than that I think they are best friends. The first day back after the holiday break, supposedly they spent five minutes looking at each other and just saying “HI!”. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I love that Mallory has a friend there, and that I like her friend’s mom so much!

Just some random pictures:

DSC03827 A little headband malfunction…
DSC03828 She INSISTED on having her coat on and carrying her little backpack while she pushed her grocery cart around the house. Hmmmm. Perhaps I need to cut back on our near-daily trips to Buschs?
DSC03830 Bling-bling! Have to LOVE that she wants to wear her gold football necklace to bed. :-)

Finally, if you are keeping track at home, add “eegaboooo” (peek-a-boo) to Mallory’s master vocabulary list. And “oh”, which means “up”, “yes” or “pacifier”, depending on the context.

PS – I am going to try to go back to my all black & white picture posting. I just love how it looks!

  1. she is saying so many words! jack tries so hard to talk, he will mimic words and move his mouth but he definitely can’t say many things! those belly pictures are hilarious – she is so adorable (: i am so glad she likes her daycare so much – where do you take her?? one of these days we will have to get together to play – at least before they are 2 years old!
