My Princess Pumpkinhead turns three

I wish I had more energy and time to write a sappy post about my baby girl turning three.

I can’t believe it’s been three years since I became a mom.

It’s been harder and easier than I ever imagined – all at the same time.

I am lucky to call this little girl my daughter.

Who would have thunk that this dark-haired baby….

…would turn into the blond curly-haired sassy-pants that she has?

Ok, I’ll be honest. The sassiness isn’t really that much of a stretch…last week at daycare she didn’t want to wake up from her nap so one of her teachers told her “you better get up and put your stuff away, or I’ll text your mom and tell her that you shouldn’t go to dance class tonight”. Mallory’s response: “Where is your phone??”

At age 3, my baby girl loves dresses, loves her baby brother, loves to say “hey mom! HEY MOM!” all the time to get my attention, loves to dance and makes me play good dancing music for her, loves to color with her “colors” (crayons, markers, pens, etc), loves to play mommy to her dolls, loves to play mommy to her little brother, can charm her way into getting almost anything she wants (her daycare teachers admitted that sometimes they can’t say no to her because she’s so cute – this is mildly disturbing – LOL!).

Friday morning of her actual birthday, the first thing I said to her was “oooh – it’s your birthday!” and Mallory said “Yep! So you have to say Happy Birthday to me!”.

We had a little birthday party for her on Friday night. She got to open up almost all of her presents (we’ll do a family birthday with my family in a few weeks to celebrate my mom’s birthday and Mallory’s).

Mallory got a little cd player so she can cue up her own music, a new spinny bress, some books and games. She also got a little sling for her baby and I was delighted this morning when she wanted to play with that while listening to her new music player. I made her a cd with her favorite music (and one of my favorite songs) and she keeps skipping through all the music.

At three, she also loves her paci and it’s been discussed that when she turned three, she had to give her pacis to her brother. So yesterday when she asked for one, I told her “but you gave them all to your brother!”. She said back to me: “NO I DIDN’T!”

And we can’t forget the sweet little brother. I can’t stand the cuteness.
