Mallorian

Thought I’d start a dictionary of Mallory’s words in anticipation of her 18-mo appointment in May…where the her pediatrician will inevitably ask “how many words does she have?”

  • Gob-ah = Thank you – 16 mos
  • Buh-pah = any animal, especially dogs – 1+ years
  • Gide = outside – 17 mos
  • Eye = light – 16 mos
  • bootball = football – 14 mos
  • ball = 1 year?
  • gigi (with hard g’s) = Gigi – 15 mos
  • guck = duck – 14 mos
  • wowowowowowowow = bow-wow/what does a dog say = 16 mos
  • eeeeeeeeeet = eat – 16 mos
  • mmmmmmmmm = what does a cow say – 14 mos
  • Eeek-a-boo = Peek-a-boo – 14-ish mos?
  • Ay-ya = Alli – her friend at school – 16-mos-ish?
  • gabyebye (go bye bye) – what she says when she doesn’t know where something is – 17 mos
  • pees (please) – 17 mos
  • cheese – for pictures – 17 mos
  • byebyebobo – no idea what it means but she says it a lot. When leaving daycare at 18 mos, I said “see you later, alligator” and she said “byebyebobo”.
  • goo-mee = excuse me – 18 mos
  • kinkee
  • c-ya = see ya – 18 mos
  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet = eat 15 mos
  • belbow = elbow – 18 mos
  • gaga = dada – 18 mos
  • beet = feet – 18.5 mos
  • nilk = milk – 18.5 mos
  • go poo = go poop – 18.5 mos
  • boot = foot, boat or book – 19 mos
  • a version of bubbles – 19 mos
  • bite = wants a bite of our food or she is pionting at a bug bite – 19 mos
  • Hi mama! Hi gaga! – all the time starting 18.5 mos

I realized (like almost two years too late) that I should still add to this with Mallory’s silly mispronunciations. Here goes:

  • strike = Sprite – 4 yrs
  • patren = pattern
  • askident = accident (still says this at 4yrs)
  • plum trees = palm trees
  • compudeeder = computer (more when she was 2 & 3)
  • Flordida = Florida (more when she was 2 & 3)
  • headhodge = hedge hog (age 4)
