wow. 37. when i was younger 37 seemed so old. now that i’m here it just sounds old – i don’t feel so old. well sometimes i do when i am a little slow getting up off the floor after playing with mallory.
my birthday weekend has been good so far: a mid-day pedicure & lunch date with some good friends yesterday (even mallory got her toes painted to match mine!), dinner with my family at my mom’s yesterday evening, a big ultimate margarita at Friday’s with rick & mallory on our way home from my mom’s. this morning mallory enjoyed my breakfast buffet and rick took us all to breakfast. i had a hockey scrimmage this afternoon and rick & i are going out tonight for our first kid-free date in 3 months!
a friend of mine who recently celebrated a birthday was commenting on what a difference 8 years makes – she just turned 29 and was comparing her 29th birthday (complete with husband & 4-mo old baby) to her 21st birthday (spent at scorekeepers).
last year i was newly pregnant, the year before i was madly planning a wedding, and the year before that i was still living in my own condo but had been dating rick for 1.5 years. wow.
happy birthday! those little baby toes are TOO cute – she is so adorable! i hope i have a girl someday to get a chance to paint her toenails! glad you and rick got to go out – jack had a meltdown on my bday and we didn’t quite make it, but we are trying to reschedule! i used to love those ultimate drinks at fridays – i would get the mudslides with ice cream – YUM!!!!
