Mallory

lazy saturday

i have been waiting for a day like today for a long time. almost a whole day with nothing to do. mallory let me sleep until almost 7 (too bad rick’s alarm went off at 6a) and promptly went down for a nap ~8.30am. i should have gone back to bed too but i am on a scrapbooking mission to get as caught up as possible. it’s practically blizzarding outside right now so i don’t feel guilty sitting here doing nothing :-)

yesterday was good friday so we sent mallory to daycare in her adorable bunny outfit that brendan & kaylie’s mom got her. it has a clear pocket on the front for her picture and sue knew that me being the picture queen, i would be sure to use the cute outfit properly.

hip hop babycan you see the “hip hop” on her feet?

last night we tried some new sleep training. i am sure millions of parents would switch places with us since mallory goes to sleep at night so well in her crib, but i wanted to get her to be able to fall asleep other places. so last night after i nursed her, i tried to hold her and cuddle her to sleep. she was pretty mad, fussing and crying. once i started humming “hail to the victors”, which is what the mobile on her crib plays, she fell right asleep. i think we might be in trouble come football season if she falls asleep anytime she hears the Victors. hahaha.

tonight we are sending off rick’s buddy who is heading to china for 6 months for work. the last time he went overseas for work it was for 3 months to germany and he came back 3 years later…so we are joking that we’ll see him in 2013. anyway, a bunch of the fish & hens are going out to BW3s for wings and then i’m sure the fish will continue on to other points downtown. i know this hen isn’t up for bar-hopping all night.

princess pumpkin head just went down for a nap so i’m going to head back to the scrap room. happy easter!!!

  1. yes – i cannot believe your sleep training! i mean jack sleeps in his crib all night long and goes down great – but i can’t imagine trying to do it another way – you are great at being flexible! that outfit was too cute- so you are into scrapbooking? i like it a lot but get pretty overwhelmed with it – i did one for our wedding and am doing jacks first year – i plan to do one year for each baby and thats IT! you should post some pictures of your scrapbook pages!
