What a fun Saturday. Rick & I spent the day running errands with Mallory.
First stop was Shane’s soccer game, which meant we got to see my sister and Lauren and new baby Liam. Lauren is obsessed with Mallory, trying to undo the carseat buckles so Mallory can come out and play, handing and taking away Mallory’s blankie, pacifier, book, toy, etc. They are going to grow up to be great friends, I’m sure of it :-)
Our next stop was to my mom’s to deposit stuff in our off-site storage (aka my mom’s basement). Mallory was all smiles and giggles for Gigi, it was so cute. The daycare ladies say she really responds to them, which they may say to all the moms, but Mallory does seem to interact with people when they are telling her how adorable she is. Smart girl.
We saved the best for last. Our final stop ~ the indoor community pool!!! We’ve been talking about it for a couple of months and we finally found the time to go. It almost got waived off because Mallory was asleep after our long day but we decided that since there probably won’t be another free Saturday afternoon until December where all three of us could go to the pool, we should continue as planned. The water in the wading pool was a little chilly and I was afraid Mallory wouldn’t like it but she had no problems. She liked sitting and standing at the steps and was giving us lots of smiles. We even dunked her a few times and other than some sputtering and coughing, she seemed unfazed. Now our lake just has to warm up a bit, okay, a LOT, and we’ll be all set!
We got some video of her “swimming” –
Another gorgeous day is in the forecast for tomorrow – here’s to more sunshine!! Rick is doing one of his insane adventure races tomorrow (biking, orienteering, canoing with your bikes in the canoe, etc) so the girls will be home alone with Cooper. We are planning on a walk at the park and getting lots of fresh air. Hopefully spring is here to stay.
