I had a plan (maybe a dumb-new mom mistake-mess making plan?) to make some belated Mother’s Day art for Mallory’s grandmas. After seeing that she did a handprint at school for my Mother’s Day gift, I thought it would be fun to try it at home. I picked up some washable fingerpaints and stripped Mallory down to her diaper. As you can see from the picture, she is apparently a lefty (which will make #10 happy). Other good news is that the label on the fingerpaints didn’t lie – it was very easy to clean up. Phew.
Another weekend of Michigan softball. Michigan is hosting Regionals this weekend, and won their first game last night 3-0. They are playing again right now but Mallory & I were scared off by the threat of rain so we stayed home and will listen to daddy’s friend do play-by-play on the web.
Speaking of Rick’s friend – back when Mallory was born and Rick missed his first game at Michigan, Doug was doing the pre-game show from Indiana. I never listen to the games on the radio so I don’t know what caused me to turn the radio on that day, but we did just in time to hear Doug say “…want to say congratulations to Rick & his wife Samantha ~ they had a daughter, Mallory, earlier this week so Rick didn’t make the trip down to Bloomington…”. It was so cool!
