We have had a busy week; Rick was gone for a work trip so MC & I held down the fort. She was pretty good all week – and had a couple of firsts.
One is clapping — she has done this before but always with a toy in her hand so I always thought she was just trying to transfer the toy from one hand to the other and kept missing. But Thursday night she full on was clapping. She doesn’t move her left arm though, it stays pinned to her side, and she has to keep checking her alignment, but it is pretty flipping cute. (click here for the video)
She also had her first no-help-from-mom swim; we got a floaty thing from my sister that Mallory can sit in (like her exersaucer seat). She didn’t like it as a floaty, but when I put her where it was shallow enough for her feet to touch, she loved scooting, spinning around to watch Cooper be a freak. Also pretty flipping cute.
And thirdly (and I think this made him the proudest) ~ when Rick went to get her from her crib this morning – the normal routine is to try to plug her with the paci and see if we can buy a few extra minutes of sleep. But this morning, Princess Mallory was having none of it and chucked her paci across the room. This from flat-on-her-back in her crib. We’ve already talked to Biggie about getting her into Michigan’s softball camp.
Summer seems like it is finally here to stay, thank goodness :-) We’re off to a BBQ that is starting at 4. (name that song!)
that video is SO adorable – i LOVE it because now i am going to be clapping like a maniac so that jack can learn how to do it too! jack made a BASKET on his own this morning in his little basketball sports toy – it made his daddy SO proud!!! (:
Wow! that is a very amazing video. Keep up the good work Mallory! She learning how to cheer on mom and dad pretty quick!
