Mallory is *thisclose* to crawling. She actually will roll to her stomach and reach like crazy for stuff. She is working on her spin move ~ she will twirl around on her tummy to reach a toy I’ve set behind her. As exciting as it is to watch her develop these new skills, I am equally anxious about what will accompany her being mobile.
*no more worrying just about the dog licking the dirty dishes while we are loading up the dishwasher;
*the baby gates we bought 2 years ago will finally really be used for a baby;
*the dog will probably finally start hiding;
*and most importantly, Rick & I will have to get better about picking up after ourselves.
Right now the laptop sits on an end table next to our couch, the cameras are in a basket under that end table, and cords are everywhere. The dog bowls are out in plain view ~ all of these things will be very interesting to a mobile 8-mo old kid. I think finally putting the childproof locks on the kitchen cabinets will be on our list of things to do this weekend.
We had a fun photo session last night; we need to get a passport of Mals for our trip to my birthplace we are planning for next year. We set Mallory up in front of a backdrop and started snapping. It’s hysterical to watch all of her different faces during the progression of pictures. Here are her Passport Photo Session pics.
After the photo shoot, it was manicure time for Mal-Star. Amazingly, she sits rather still for this activity! She also needs her toes touched up for the holidays, we’ll try to take care of that tonight. We have a nice relaxing weekend planned – only thing on the agenda is a wedding reception tomorrow night. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so I’m hoping to get some color out on the lake!
that is so cute – i love all your pictures on your picasa site! do you actually put nail polish on her?
Awesome, teaching early ! way to go!
