Busy busy weekend at our house. Mallory got to go to her first baseball game Friday night when we went to the Tigers-Red Sox game ~ I thought it would be good practice for football season. Well I quickly learned that Mallory might not be going to the games with me this fall, at least not the ones I want to actually watch. The Tigers crushed the Sox and supposedly there were a bunch of great plays ~ we had fun though even though I didn’t get to see much of the game. Brendan and his dad were there too, and Brendan gave Mallory his hat to wear. I was cracking up.
What is so serious about baseball? Mallory with her boyfriend’s hat.
On Saturday we were hosting a big BBQ & Fireworks watching party but first Mallory had to get some naps in. Normally she sleeps and wakes up and doesn’t pay any mind to the stuffed animals in her crib. But yesterday she had them all piled them all on top of her — and when we peeked in, the mound of animals was moving. I wasn’t sure if she piled them on her before she fell asleep or if she woke up and was playing with them but it seems to be her new “thing” because tonight when I went to check on her, she was sleeping and had them piled on her again. Here is what we walked in on Saturday afternoon:
Finally it was time for the party! Mallory got to wear her stars & stripes sundress again and was so fun with all of our guests. We had about 30-40 ppl over and Mallory was awesome just hanging out on a blanket in the yard with our friend’s kids. Here is Mallory doing another test run of her tailgating chair:
I was so excited to see how Mallory would react to the fireworks. Aside from being a little cranky from it being way past her bedtime (for the second night in a row), she sat on my lap and I think she was watching them. For some reason the booms weren’t super loud with the fireworks and even when our neighbors would let some little ones off, she didn’t seem to mind. Another fun thing about being up so late is that we got to see TONS of fireflies. Rick tried to catch some to show MC but when he’d open his hand, they’d fly away before she could see them light up. I need to catch some in a jar for her next time I’m up after dark. LOL.
Cooper was in heaven also – I think he had someone throwing a ball for him almost all day yesterday. Poor Coops was pooped today.
Mallory turned 8-mos old on Friday – still not crawling and still just the two teeth. But she’s close to 20 lbs and I just love her chunky thighs ~ she giggles and giggles when we tickle them!! We are on standby with the camera at all times so we can get her first real crawl on video. Stay tuned!
that looks like so much fun! i haven’t put anything in jack’s crib with him yet, not even a blanket – poor baby is probably bored! we just had to take down his mobile because he was reaching it – so at this point maybe i will introduce an animal or toy so that he can have something to play with when he wakes up!
