Mallory is still showing a few signs of normalcy. She ate VERY well tonight at dinner (banana, applesauce with rice cereal, cheerios, water) and was actually playful…her new “thing” is peekaboo with her hands, which was going well until I let her have applesauce on her tray (all pictures will get bigger if you click on them)…
As of a little while ago, she is still uninterested in bearing weight on her right leg. After talking with the docs again later this afternoon, they are thinking “Transient Synovitis” which you can read about here. She is still fever-less which is really good and is still sleeping well which is also very good – according to the doctors.
One somewhat funny thing…more than one medical person has questioned our “but she isn’t walking” concern, since she is only 11 months old. I guess because it’s not really normal for an 11-mo old to be walking already, we keep getting asked if she was walking before our ER visit and our “she’s not walking” complaints. Um, yes. I’m not that freaky of a mom who takes my 11-mo old kid to the emergency room just because she hadn’t started walking at all yet.
Regardless, Thursday morning can’t get here fast enough.
i am glad she seems to be doing better but it still must be very scary!!! we are praying for her to feel better and that everything goes ok at the doctor on thursday!
ps. those pictures are SO cute – what a MESS she made with that applesauce! do you give her applesauce on the tray a lot? i love the peek-a-boo game – she is VERY smart!!
Wow, I hope you get good reports on Thursday. We’ll be on pins and needles with you until we know she is okay. With her being playful again I think everything will be all right. Loved the peek-a-boo photos.
Give her a kiss for us.
Love, Nina and Papa
