Just checked my blog stats for today. 73 hits so far and it’s only 11am?

December 31 – Day 7 – Fearless
Here is the evidence that I don’t have to worry about my kid being afraid of the water. But I think we have to be afraid of her not being afraid of the water.
That’s Bryce in the kiddie pool with my Mallory, and I am playing lifeguard. Bryce is our friend’s 6-year old son ~ Mallory loves him to pieces, and I think the feeling is mutual. It’s too cute.
I don’t have our fancy video editing software on the laptop right now so forgive the length of the video.

Yesterday was low-key – we made a run up the …
December 29 – Day 5
Wow. Day 5 already? And we still have 3+ to go?
The weather continues to be spectacular. Mallory spent some time in the babysitter’s room today so I could get some alone time poolside (even though it was only an hour, it was relaxing). When Rick got home, he was adamant about going to Animal Kingdom. I had heard from a couple of people that it wasn’t anything super great so Rick packed Mallory up and off they went and mom went out for dinner with Miss Cheri!
Anyway, Rick didn’t tell me much about their visit to Animal Kingdom other than …
December 28 – Day 4 – Only one post
Pretty low-key day. Went for a quick dip in the pool and then tried to nap. As soon as daddy got home off we went to Universal Studios. Mallory didn’t get to do much but as always she got huge enjoyment out of people watching (just like her mama).
One of many cool things about this trip is that I am learning so much about my kid. Being able to spend so much downtime with her has been so fun — she is so much smarter than I knew! Last weekend at home, around 9am on both Saturday & Sunday, I …
December 27 – Day 3 – Only one post
Posting after-the-fact but wanted to keep the chronologicality of the blog intact.
Mallory & I spent all day at Disney on Thursday. We went in the morning with Miss Cheri and her Mallory & Bryce and we rode it’s a small world and the Flying Dumbos. Mallory danced along with the singers on the first ride and wanted to stand up on the second one.
We came back to the hotel for a quick turnaround to drop off C, M & B, and to pick up dad and we headed back to Disney for some more fun. We saw the show …
December 26 – Day 2 – Post #3
Some more pictures from Day 2. Here is Mallory running away from home. I’d left the lock thing in the door because some friends were stopping by and next thing you know she’s out the door and down the hall, with her backpack and sorter block bucket in tow. One time she did it and the maids had to return her. I don’t leave the lock thing in the door anymore.
December 26 – Day 2 – Post #2
Just came back from the pool. There is a little kiddie pool that is only one-foot deep. Mallory loved it – and she kept trying to dive under the water. I’ll have to ask my sister and my mom what they did with her at the pool on Monday. She is certainly way braver today than she was at our last swim class.
Just checked the weather for the rest of the week:
Thursday, Dec 27 High: 80 °F RealFeel®: 81 °F Sunshine and warm with the temperature approaching the record of 82 last set in 1990
Wahoo!
December 26 – Day 2 – Post 1
Ok, I should explain that since I’m stuck in a hotel room a lot on these trips, I’ll be blogging in almost real time and there might just be multiple posts from the same day. Sorry if you don’t like it.
Mallory is in the midst of her morning nap, a little late since it’s afternoon, so we are a little off schedule. But for good reason.
We had breakfast today with the Florida, Michigan State & Boston College families…and Mickey, Goofy & Pluto. They had balloon guys making things out of balloons ~ and Mallory got a “bootfall” on a stick.
Finally …
Christmas – Day 1 – Orlando
We finally made it to Florida. The flight was OK, thank GOD for the kindness of Rick’s co-workers. I had Mallory, Mallory’s carseat, Mallory’s diaper bag, Mallory’s little cooler with a lunchable and milk, Mallory’s backpack with her toys, and Mallory’s mom’s laptop bag, stuffed with magazines and books. So people were great, helping schlep my stuff off the bus and on the plane, and back off the plane. To my surprise, Rick was waiting on the tarmac when we landed in Florida. On my first trip in 2004 – he screwed up big time. The busses pulled up in …
Christmas Morning – pre-trip
Well, our Christmas started off sort of rough. Mallory was up at 3:30am and wouldn’t go back to sleep to save her life. So after three hours of her fighting sleep I gave up and just got us both up. She rewarded me with a 2.5 hour nap starting at 7.30a so I could at least finish packing. Here she is after her nap, trying to look sweet and suck up to me for waking me up so early…
