Mallory

Cross your fingers

So far today has been a normal day for Miss Mallory. She slept for an hour at school (good), fell asleep on the way home from school (very good), ate a good dinner and didn’t freak out in the highchair (good), had a fun bath (good), and walked herself to her bedroom for night-night, stopping to give me a smooch on her way (also good). Rick is in reading his Outside magazine to her and giving her a bottle…I hope tonight is the night that she is back to my easy-to-sleep baby.

I have posted before about Mallory & her friend Alli at school who fight over Miss Mary, one of the ladies in the infant room (click here to read that post). Well today as Mals & I were leaving, I asked her to blow Miss Makeda a kiss and she did. Then I asked if Miss Mary got a kiss. Miss Mary was on the complete other side of the infant room so Mallory, in her big puffy pink coat, waddled over there, through an obstacle course of toys, kids, castles, etc.

Allison, not wanting Mallory to get a spot on Miss Mary’s lap, took off towards Miss Mary, but went the long-un-obstacled way…and won. She collapsed into Miss Mary’s free arm (the other arm was holding one of the little babies) just as Mallory showed up. So Mallory just blew Miss Mary a kiss and came back to me. We were all laughing at the crazy little girls. They are soooo hysterical!

Another crazy little girl story that Alli’s mom told me she heard is that when the girls wake up from their naps around the same time – they stand up in their cribs and just say “hi”, “hi”, “hi”, “hi”, back and forth until someone comes to rescue them. Hysterical.

So, tonight when we got home, Mallory had a little snack in her highchair. I thought I heard some rumblings coming from the seat of the highchair but my nose still isn’t working from my sinus infection so I have so I didn’t know if she’d pooped. When I got her down from the highchair, I asked “did you poop??”

Her response: “kiiiink-keeee!” (stinky). Nice.

Rick just emerged from Mallory’s room…off to get the report.
