I don’t even know how to title this post. So I’ll just jump into the stories:
Mallory likes to help give Cooper dinner. Usually she is happy with giving him his arthritis pill and then showing me where his bowl is so I can dump his food.
Tonight, she reached for the cup we use for his food so I let her at it. This is a one-cup plastic measuring cup, filled to the brim with little pebbles of dog food. She immediately tips it and some of the food dumps on the carpet. She loses it and starts crying. I tell her it’s OK and we go in search of Cooper’s dish. When we find it, she starts to tip the cup but doesn’t get ANY of it in his dish. So she bends down to try again and actually gets the rest in his bowl. There are still about 10 pieces still in the cup and she starts to drop them one at a time into his bowl. But they are bouncing out so she waddles over to wherever that particular piece landed, stepping on a million other pieces she dropped her first try, and brings that one little piece back to his bowl.
This is all while Cooper is drooling at the end of the kitchen (he is such a hog that we have to make him stay out until we fill his dish otherwise he would knock us over as we walked with the cup of food). After she finally got the cup emptied into the dish, albeit with about half of it on the floor, I let Cooper come in and hoover up dinner.
