Mallory was at Uncle Mike’s yesterday and Shane was twirling her around. She slipped out of his hands and went headfirst into the closet doors. I gasped and grabbed her before she really started to cry and she must not have been hurt too bad because she was very quickly calmed by a pacifier and her blankie. But Shane was very quick to say “Sorry Mallory. It was an accident.”. I told him maybe he should give her a kiss on her head where she hit it, which he did, and then I used my Love & Logic on him:
Me: “So, what did we learn from this?”
Shane: “Um, don’t twirl her around and send her flying?”
Me: “Good idea, Shaners.”

Oh – I was *that* mom in the infant room this year for Valentine’s Day. All the kids in her room are under 1.5 yrs old but I had Mallory do Valentines for all 10 kids. OK, so *I* did Valentines for Mallory to hand out. Oh wait, I mean I did Valentines for Mallory’s *teachers* to hand out. Anyway – why I didn’t remember that Mallory didn’t get Valentines last year when she was in this same room, I have no idea. Poor kid handed out 10 Valentines and didn’t get any in return (except from her cousin Shane and that’s probably only because he felt bad that he threw her into a closet door yesterday) .

We have been slacking on our veggies lately – Mallory used to love the little jars of cut up green beans and mushy carrots but since we’ve been on table food we just steam some corn or peas for her, since those are really the only veggies Rick & I like. I found the remains of a bag of frozen green beans in the freezer so I tried them out on Mallory – she didn’t want any of them (mind you, she wasn’t a fan of the rest of the green beans in this bag either). Even when I cut them up real small and tried to mix them in with corn & peas – she would put a handful of veggies in her mouth and then get this face, and out would come JUST the little piece of green bean. I was actually eating green beans tonight and I don’t think I know why green beans are worse than peas?

I am realizing that I am more of a journaling blogger than a picture blogger, which I think surprises my friends, since I am known as the picture-taking-freak in my circles. I need to increase my photosharing.
Hmmmmm.
But here are some pictures of Mallory & her mom giggling from last weekend:
The right picture is supposed to be upside down. Mallory will sit on my lap, and lean back; then I stand up and flip her feet over so she lands on her feet. I’m trying to teach her to do “TA-DA” when she lands.

PS – We are back in business with a fast laptop again, all loaded with software and the right video & mouse & sound drivers. THANK goodness. I was starting to doubt my skilz there for a day or so.
Shane: “Um, don’t twirl her around and send her flying?”
I love kid logic. So simple, yet so correct.
