Rick & I had a fun date night last night while Mallory had a fun night at Auntie Em’s. My old friend Hitch is the coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets and got us tickets to the game.
We had a quick dinner in Greektown and sort of took our time getting to the Joe – I was looking forward to seeing Coach after the game and the time in between was just fluff. Plus I figured Coach wouldn’t know if we got there late anyway. I didn’t even bring my camera because usually the seats are up in the upper level and it’s not worth trying to take any pictures from up there. But when we picked up our tickets at will call ~ Oh.My.God. We had seats *right* behind the Columbus bench. Hitch was going to be PI$$ED when we walked in halfway through the first period!
The seats were awesome to see what was going on on the bench, but not too awesome to actually watch a hockey game but we didn’t care (Rick is sort of a spectator snob – having watched so many games from the sidelines, he refuses to sit in regular folk seats so we hardly go to any sporting events together). The Blue Jackets CRUSHED the Red Wings which made chatting with Coach after the game more fun. When we did catch up with him after the game he didn’t even want to talk to me…all he wanted to do was talk Michigan football with Rick and ask questions about the new coach.
