Rick left us. He’s on spring break with a bunch of college girls. He’ll be back soon.
I always enjoy the first night or two when he travels. I can sit and fart around on the computer as much as I want. I can catch up on my trashy reality TV shows that he always makes fun of me for watching (“the most dramatic ______ EVER!”). I can even go to bed at 8p with a bowl of ice cream. Not that I can’t do that stuff when he’s home but he usually wants me to play him in Wii tennis or watch some old TIVO’d bike race from last summer. Speaking of Wii tennis – this week would be a good opportunity for me to practice so maybe I can WIN a game of Wii tennis?
But after the first night or two, I am ready for him to come home. I felt this way even before we had Mallory so it’s not just that I miss his help (but I’ll tell you that doing daycare drop-off is HARD when I need to be in the structure at work by 6.40a!).
Since tonight is just night one of our 2008 version of The Bachelorettes, I’m enjoying the post-season recap of The Real Housewives of Orange County and the kitchen table is COVERED in scrapbook stuff. Usually when Rick is home, I have to pack my crapping stuff up when I’m done so nothing gets spilled on it. But I’m keeping that Cricut out for the duration and I better be caught up on my scrapbooks before he comes home! The Cricut is so unbelievably awesome – I am finishing up so many half-finished pages; I feel such a sense of accomplishment – it’s so relieving! Especially since I was contemplating throwing in the crapping towel all together and just using regular photo albums for all of my pictures.

Mallory & I have a busy couple of days and then we are unscheduled. We are going to go visit one of my friends from my K-Wings days this weekend; I haven’t seen her in YEARS and now she has 2+ kids (due with her third next month) and I have my one kid. It will be fun to catch up!
OH – if anyone is in the area this weekend go to the new Borders by Best Buy at 11a on Saturday for a reading of “Fancy Nancy” by the author. It is Mallory’s new second favorite book (this is her first favorite book) and couldn’t be cuter. I hope we can make it by there.

Remember when I said I liked winter? Well I am ready for it not to be winter anymore. Actually it can just not be so cold anymore – this SUCKS. The snow is turning gray, our road & driveway are total ice rinks, and the grocery store is out of salt so I can’t even try to un-ice my driveway. Ugh.
I’m off to dish up some ice cream and head upstairs. Bon soir!
I can relate to it just being the girls at home. :-) I feel the same way – I enjoy the first few days alone and then I’m ready for Eric to come home. I wish we could just meet up at Friday’s at throw back a few drinks… ha! The good old days. I first have to escape being under house arrest.
