coops, Mallory

Now hear this…

Wahoo! We got Mallory’s appointment with the ENT people moved up to tomorrow! I don’t know why I’m so excited about this; I guess I’m just hoping to get a break from the near constant antibiotics Mallory has been on since November. I’m also interested to see if it affects her mood at all since she is so happy most of the time – will fixing her ears let her be happy all of the time?

Mallory will come to work with me in the morning and we’ll go get some of the famous cafeteria pancakes that I eat almost every day (one of the guys I work with calls me Samcakes). And Mallory will get to meet “Grandma Karen”, the cafeteria cashier who is a total riot and calls me Samson.

As promised yesterday – here are some of Mallory’s latest antics:

  • I wanted to play Wii tennis on Sunday. Apparently Mallory wanted to play with me so she grunted and pointed to where we keep the other Wii remote. I tried to give her the old black tv remote that we let her abuse, thinking she would wave it around and pretend she was playing tennis with me. But she stomped her feet and grunted until I gave her the other real Wii remote. Really?
  • We have a rule that Cooper is supposed to be on his pillow, out of the kitchen and away from the table, when we eat. This usually involves me not-so-calmly telling the dog “Cooper – PILLOW” while I point out of the kitchen. [Like most dogs in a house with kid(s), Cooper knows that there will be a buffet under the high chair by the time the child(ren) is/are done eating.] Well, at dinner the other night, Mallory decided Cooper was way too close to the kitchen so she yelled “BahBAH!!” and pointed to Cooper’s pillow. She also does this when we leave the house, since usually Cooper gets his “guard the house” treat on his pillow.
  • Lastly – I really don’t think there is anything funnier than watching four one-yr-olds say good-bye at the end of the school day. Mallory is the first one to leave, and now there are two other little kids from Mallory’s class (besides Alli) who come to bid farewell to Mallory. They all hug each other ~ even the ones who aren’t leaving yet are hugging each other. Mallory might get or give a kiss or two. And she usually gives Miss Makeda a big “knuckles” at the end of the day. Hysterical. They are turning into such little people, I can’t stand it.

Well, I got a new toy today – a Canon Point & Shoot digital camera. As you can see from the third picture of Mallory in my last post, we were having some blurring issues with our other little camera, not to mention all the pictures I don’t post because they come out yucky. So we justified it with some gift cards, along with a little discount from Best Buy for farging up our camcorder repair. And I guess it can be my early birthday present.

I was sooooo reluctant to veer away from my tried & true Sony Cybershot comfort zone but this camera got good reviews and rated well with non-blurry photos. We didn’t get the top model that had the image stabilization – here’s to hoping that decision doesn’t bite us in the arse.

So I’m off to play and read digital camera manuals. I am such a nerd.

Oh, congrats to softball – 5-1 so far on their spring break trip. Go Blue!!!
