I tried to get her dancing and watching her reflection in the TV but as soon as I got the camera out, she stopped. She was also trying to imitate me snapping my fingers. Now THAT was funny. Maybe another day.

470
That’s how many days old the Pumpkin Head is.
And since Mallory is 470 days old, we had her 15-mo check-up today. Unfortunately this meant three shots. But before the shots we got a good report – 31.1″ (67%) and 26.96 lbs (93%). She is right on track developmentally and the doctor gave us some things to watch for that she should be doing in the next couple months.
But the biggest news is that she has another raging ear infection. I think it’s great that we wouldn’t know it if the doctor didn’t tell us. She is so easy …
Inappropriate?
This morning at daycare, they were playing Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville”. Granted, it was early and the only kid there so far was the teacher’s daughter. But I’m not sure if this is inappropriate or makes the daycare that much cooler? Mallory certainly hears her fair share of Buffett around our house in the summertime so it’s no big deal to me.
I guess I won’t worry about it unless I hear them play “Why don’t we get drunk (& screw)”.
Sweet
Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?
Go Blue Jackets!
Rick & I had a fun date night last night while Mallory had a fun night at Auntie Em’s. My old friend Hitch is the coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets and got us tickets to the game.
We had a quick dinner in Greektown and sort of took our time getting to the Joe – I was looking forward to seeing Coach after the game and the time in between was just fluff. Plus I figured Coach wouldn’t know if we got there late anyway. I didn’t even bring my camera because usually the seats are up in the …
Flying
Mallory was at Uncle Mike’s yesterday and Shane was twirling her around. She slipped out of his hands and went headfirst into the closet doors. I gasped and grabbed her before she really started to cry and she must not have been hurt too bad because she was very quickly calmed by a pacifier and her blankie. But Shane was very quick to say “Sorry Mallory. It was an accident.”. I told him maybe he should give her a kiss on her head where she hit it, which he did, and then I used my Love & Logic on him:

SMRT
I had the laptop back up and running within 30 minutes of being home yesterday. I am so SMRT. I don’t have Live Writer installed yet – I am trying to be good and do all the XP updates and everything before loading up the hard drive with programs. If Rick asks me one more time “is it ready yet?” he might just get popped.

While in the throes of getting the network card recognized, I had to keep Mallory occupied in our bedroom and away from the stairs. I have one of those Body Shop Handy Massager thingys …
A girl & her dog
I haven’t posted directly from wordpress in a while (have been using Windows Live Writer) and just saw this picture here as a draft.
I’ll have to do some research on when this picture is from – I am guessing mid-December-ish.
Crash
Blogging will be on hold for a few days while I rebuild our laptop. I reformatted the hard drive to remove Vista (while I thought Vista was cool, I think it made our computer run a little slow) and reinstall XP but now the laptop doesn’t know it has a network card so no internet/network access. Thank goodness we have the desktop so I can download drivers and such. But in the meantime, I will be focusing all my awake non-Mallory home time on getting the laptop running again. Wish me luck.
Giddy Up
Mallory (actually she was still Baby Fred at the time) got this cool rocking horse from Rick’s Aunt Sharon & Uncle Gary at one of our baby showers. They made it for her and it has a blue & yellow “M” on the side – not quite a block M, but what do you expect from those Buckeyes? And I am not convinced that there isn’t a hidden scarlet & grey O on it somewhere…
Anyway, Mallory has sat on it a few times and let me rock her but today she figured out how to make it go on her …
