Mallory

Add it to the list

Add a new illness to Mallory’s list  – she has some blisters on her hands and feet which the doctor thinks is hand, foot & mouth disease (it isn’t as gross as it sounds – I promise). This is probably contributing to her extreme irritability (one site says it causes “severe fussiness – this is often the worst part of the illness”) and not wanting to eat. I am mildly irritated that she was just at the doctor Wednesday and they didn’t notice anything. Argh. Cross your fingers that this doesn’t affect our TubeDay Tuesday.

She seems to be in a little less pain the past two days but she still has these moments where she is completely & totally inconsolable. It’s so sad. At least the Tylenol seems to be helping her now – earlier this week there was NO improvement with Tylenol.

Mallory can’t go to daycare with this HFMD stuff (the doctor gave her the OK since she doesn’t have a fever, but daycare would prefer she stay home for a few days). I went in to work extra early this morning and Mallory went to work with Rick. I picked her up there when I got done with what I had to do at work and she & Rick were in the fieldhouse playing on the new fieldturf. As we were heading back into the weight room, out came Rich Rod with his son. Rick introduced us and Mallory got very shy but kept her eye on the football Rodriguez’s son was holding, it was pretty cute. Then in the weight room there were a bunch of players working out. I think Jamar Adams was one of them – he was trying to get Mallory to smile at him. I think the combination of all the new faces and her being sick made her very unsociable. And I guess I shouldn’t encourage her flirting with 22-yr old men. At least until we know how much they are going to make in the NFL.

  1. Probably a good thing we didn’t go forward with the GNO. Hugs to little Mallory…
