We got the call: Mallory’s surgery is set for noon tomorrow. Nothing to eat after midnight tonight, only Sprite, apple juice or water tomorrow morning until 8:45a and then nothing until after the surgery (probably a trip to Wendy’s for her favorite chicken nuggets will be in order!). We will hide her booster seat tonight and I have to make Rick PROMISE to not eat in front of her in the morning. She totally wants whatever we are eating, especially at breakfast. On the weekends she gets pancakes and I eat cereal. She usually wants a bite or twelve of my Cheerios or Grape Nuts Flakes as a side dish with her usual two pancakes and banana breakfast.
I am not really worried about the surgery – I know it’s super routine and quick. But it’s a little scary to think about my little girl going under anesthesia. I tend to puke when recovering from anesthesia so they will take that into account…I hope Mallory doesn’t suffer that fate. We have to babysit my sister’s kids tomorrow evening so I really hope Mallory (and I!) are doing OK post-op.

Anyway – I am so happy to have my happy baby back. She is laughing and playing and running around like normal. Thank goodness. But I will still be glad to have her constant ear fluid pressure relieved though – no more medicine! Now we’ll just have to battle her to get the ear drops in. Wahoo.

Stay tuned for our post-op report of our sweet punkie-poo.
