Mallory

Amazing

Today was one of those teaser spring days in southeast Michigan – 70 degrees and sunny; tomorrow will be 40s and a threat of snow/freezing rain/blech. My boss sprung me from work a little early (thanks Z-dogg!) and Mallory & I made a trip to the local Dairy Queen. When I picked her up at school, I asked her if she wanted to go to DQ – she *very* enthusiastically nodded her head and was ready to go. The amazing thing is that she has never been to Dairy Queen before, and she does not normally nod her head enthusiastically when I ask her to run errands with me after work. How in the heck did she know what she was in for?

That said, she enjoyed every second of our trip to Dairy Queen, right up until her ice cream was all gone. (Sorry for the not-great photos – these were taken with my phone.) She dropped her cone when I first handed it to her, but I made a quick save with my cat-like goalie reflexes to save it from a certain death on the sidewalk.

Going down the slide…with a little “TADA!!!!” at the bottom!!

She has trouble saying her “L”s. I only know this because she says “Ah-Ya” for her friend “Alli”. Today she pointed and said something akin to “yauk” when I asked her where the lake is.

These might just be my favorite new pictures of Mallory:

She has finally cut one of those pointy teeth on top (I guess officially they are called canines or cuspids, but whatever). She has been a little grumpy the past two weeks, and I was attributing it to her being sick. But since it dragged on a little long, I was on the lookout for another cause…low & behold – her first new tooth in three months.

A final story to leave you with on this Friday evening…we were hanging out in the living room today and I was asking for a kiss. She was denying me so I asked Cooper for a kiss. Mallory helped me out with a little “Buh-puh” to call the dog and then pointed right to my kisser so Cooper would know where to plant one. Thanks so much, sweetheart.
