Mallory likes when I vacuum – she likes to help me vacuum and also tries to walk the cord of the vacuum like it’s a tightrope. I thought she would enjoy a vacuum of her own.
I made the mistake of getting Mallory a talking toy vacuum. This stupid toy says “This place is a mess! What a pig-sty! That isn’t a rabbit – it’s a dust bunny!”. But there might be a good side to it – I immediately got my vacuum out to clean up the mess and dust bunnies.

I think I forgot to post about our new swim class Monday night. It was like any normal swim class, except as I was packing up our stuff for swim class, she wanted to put her water shoes on while we were still at home.
I always wondered why parents let their kids wear rain boots when it wasn’t raining, or let them wear a coat & mittens inside. Like, why don’t you just tell them they are ridiculous and to stop such foolish behavior?!
As a mom, I have quickly learned that (a) there is no point in trying to get them to stop whatever weird thing they want to do, since it will cause a battle that isn’t worth fighting; and (b) it’s pretty fun to laugh at them doing whatever weird thing it is they are doing. I got a good chuckle at Mallory’s expense, seeing her walk around the house fully clothed wearing her water shoes over socks.
