Wahoo – Mallory’s lead level is less than 1! This is after Rick & I half-heartedly used those lead paint test kits in two spots in our house and couldn’t decide if the test color showed the right or wrong color that indicated lead in the paint (there is only new paint in our house but underneath may have been lead).
Let’s celebrate!!
Month: May 2008
#300
I realized after my last post, that my next post would be post #300. I had been agonizing for two days over what fabulous thing I was going to write about in honor of my 300th post. The pressure got to be too much, so I’m getting #300 out of the way with this non-post.
I think I’ve kept a pretty good pace…Mallory is 564 days old and I have 300 posts. That is .53 PPD (posts per day). I know I had a few pre-Mallory pregnancy posts so if you were thinking you were going to bust me by saying …
Hey buh-buh
From my babycenter.com email from this week:
Your 18-month-old: Week 3 Now that your child has mastered some key words, she’ll soon figure out (if she hasn’t already) that saying those words in a REALLY LOUD VOICE is a surefire way to get what she wants. Some toddlers can even make simple two-word sentences such as “No more” or “All done.” And, as a sign of your child’s growing self-awareness, she may start referring to herself by name: “Claire go,” for example.
Exhibit A: Get a call from Rick this morning. Apparently Mallory & Rick were outside with Cooper before they left …
An 18-mo Performance
We’ve been wanting to get all of Mallory’s “tricks” on tape for a while. She has her own style of saying/doing things right now and I never want to forget any of it. Here is a little montage of her showing off what she knows. Enjoy.

Hi Mama
My new favorite thing is when Mallory comes back from running around with Rick and finds me wherever I am…she toddles in saying “hi mama! hi mama!”
I ? it.
Brave This
Here is Mallory, completely fearless at the water fountain in Florida.
Rats Nest
Ok, seriously. What in the HELL are we supposed to do with this?
All Done
We had a great last day in Florida. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool that had a poolside bar and the margaritas were on special ;-) There was a slide that wasn’t as user friendly as the one in Guam but I took Mallory down it a few times anyway. This pool area also had a little kiddie pool that was only 2 feet deep so we had fun in there. She is completely and utterly fearless when it comes to water (and reinforces that it is the pool that she doesn’t like at her new …
Last day in Florida
While waiting in the (super) long line for the Flying Dumbos yesterday, there were three little kids behind us (7, 4 and 3) with I think their aunt. They were out of control and I was mildly irritated but then the little girl (age 4) asked me “what’s HER name?” in this unbelievably adorable English accent and pointed at Mallory. This was followed up with “how old is she? how many teeth does she have? how many teeth do I have? how many teeth do you have? what’s your name? (to which the 7 yr old boy responded “hey, that’s …
A Day at Disney
We had a fabulous time at Disney today – the best part was spending time with Rick’s family – they live so far away that for them to be able to get quality time with Mallory is cool
Well, first things first – Mallory still doesn’t like the characters. When one came into her view, she would kick and squirm until I picked her up. Even then, if the character came close enough, she would start to whine and cry. But if I told her to say hi or blow a kiss, she would but then would go back to squirming …
