And here is her menu from TGIFridays (shocking that we ate there, eh?).
We asked her if she could find the M. I am telling the honest truth when I say she found the M in the lower left corner all by herself. We almost pointed it out for her but didn’t have to even give any hints.
I know this is super crazy for her to know a letter but when Rick has an M on 99.9% of the shirts he wears, we joke with Mallory that the M stands for …
First report from Orlando
This resort where we are staying is gorgeous. There are about 8 pools, mini-golf, Pizza Hut, a couple of poolside bars, and best of all – it’s only 4 miles from Disney!
We are heading there tomorrow and Rick’s family is driving over to spend the day with the Mouse with us. I was actually able to get some character meals set up and I hope the pumpkinhead isn’t freaked out by the characters this time like she was over Christmas.
Here are some pictures from our trip so far:

Made It
For as good as my kid was on our super long flight to Guam, she was equally horrible on our flights yesterday and they were a fifth of the airtime. What a difference 4 months makes between traveling with a 14-mo old and traveling with an 18-mo old. I felt like Kate from Jon and Kate plus 8 (but with only one kid) when they were flying to Utah and Kate started to lose it on the plane. We were *those people* on our flight yesterday that everyone hated…where you look at the parents and try to figure out why …
Watch, Gigi
My favorite hockey team in the whole world used to be the Dallas Stars. The Stars are playing the Wings tonight in playoff hockey and I didn’t know who to root for I didn’t know for whom to root (grammar corrected on May 13) (since I really don’t like either team) but we turned the game on so Mallory could watch hockey and she was all fired up. Then we called Gigi to see if she was watching the hockey game and my mom in turn asked Mallory if she was watching the game.
Mallory started holding the phone up to …
My Kid Rocks
Not sure if I should be proud of this or a little disturbed – but it’s too funny to not share.
The new Kid Rock song “All Summer Long” came on the radio yesterday when we were in the car. I looked in the rear-view mirror and Mallory was totally rockin’ out in the backseat. This will be fine until she starts to sing the words “drinking whiskey out the bottle”, etc. ;-)
We had her dancing tonight for a while but didn’t have the camera fired up early enough so it’s not worth posting. Rookie mistake.

Kick me
Here is the video I promised from last night. In the beginning (when Mallory is in & out of the frame) she is going over to pretend to get baby wash and shampoo – then she goes and slaps, I mean washes, her baby’s head.
At the end of the video she is on her back kicking – this is a HUGE step. She HATES being on her back in the pool and in the tub so the fact that she was on her back without me holding her hand is a big deal.
It’s sort of a long video – over …
A Well-Rounded Weekend
I have to declare this weekend a success.
Friday night was low-key family night and Rick & I got to watch Survivor from the night before.
On Saturday Rick got a “Rick Day” – I took Mallory with me to a baby shower (where she was darling and well-behaved, I might add) and Rick got to go mountain biking. After that, Rick & our neighbor got half of the dock put in (so we are one step closer to getting our boat in the water!)
Saturday night we went to dinner at Mallory’s BFF’s house. It took the girls about 1.2 seconds to …
Three-point stance
I have pictures to go with this story but they seem mildly inappropriate so I won’t share them but take my word for it – the pictures are pretty funny.
Mallory sat down on her little potty next to me last night. She had a napkin in her hand still from dinner. She leaned forward, put her left hand on the ground, and reached around and started to wipe…her back. Then she reached under her belly and started to actually wipe as though she had gone potty.
I guess I really need to be careful what I do in front of …
