Unfortunately there is no video to accompany this post so you’ll have to just close your eyes (after you read it) and visualize how completely hysterically cute Mallory and her BFF Alli are.
This is what happened when I got to daycare today:
The girls were out on the toddler playground with about six other boys & girls. Alli was chasing Mallory – and whatever Mallory stopped to look at or touch, Alli copied her. The did a lap around the playground like this (with me hiding behind a bush so neither of them saw me).
Then Alli ran to the little plastic teeter-totter and hopped on one side. Seeing that Mallory’s pinky weighs as much as Allison, it was no problem for Mallory to hop on the other side of the teeter-totter and the girls rocked it for a few minutes – laughing and giggling the entire time. That’s when I made my appearance…and Mallory screamed “HIIIII MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!”
Both girls hopped off the teeter-totter and started running for the back of the playground – and into the little plastic playhouse back there. Mallory first, followed by Alli – who swiftly slammed the little half door shut behind her and then she turned and GRINNED the hugest smile at me – as if to say “AH-HA!!!!! We are safe from the evil mommy trying to steal Mallory”.
Soon the girls came running out of the playhouse and did a couple of laps around me before I grabbed Mallory for a big hug. I put her down and asked Alli for a hug, which she misinterpreted to mean “hug Mallory”. Next thing you know, Alli & Mallory are in this HUGE bear hug…and then on the ground, laughing and still hugging.
The girls got up – still giggling – and wiped the mulch and leaves off their outfits, and went and chased each other down the slide a few times.
When I told Mallory it was time to go, she turned to Alli and said “BYE YAYA!!!!!!!!” – gave her a final hug and off we went.
My question of the day: What can be funner than a 19-mo old and her BFF?
