When we were at Disney in May, we rode the Finding Nemo ride. Seeing as how Mallory was only 18 months old at the time, we haven’t had to get into Disney stuff just yet. Out in front of the ride, they had those birds from the movie (I think they were seagulls?) saying “MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE”. It was pretty funny even though we’d never seen the movie. Mallory got a kick out of them, kneeling down to watch them under the fence.
Well, Mallory’s new word at home is “MINE!”. Whenever she sees something she wants, she yells MINE!. I can only imagine some bratty kid at daycare taught her that word, because I don’t know where else she would have heard it. We did just rent her Finding Nemo the movie but I don’t think she watched enough of it to have gotten it from that. It’s hard not to laugh at her when she says it because it’s pretty cute, but I need to remember that we don’t want to encourage bratty behavior. :-)

Last night when Rick got home, Mallory got slammed to the floor by a way too excited dog. She was crying until I sat down to cuddle with her and Rick tried to give her a kiss. She didn’t want a kiss from either of us, so I kissed Rick instead. She started to giggle and so we pretended to be leaning in to give her a kiss but then turned at the last second and gave each other a kiss. She was laughing and finally said BABY! so that we would give her a kiss. Then she said MOMMY-GAGA and pointed back & forth at Rick & me until we kissed. What a goofball!

Another funny story – Mallory telling Cooper to “more poop” after he’d already gone pee.

We took Cooper for a walk tonight but Mallory wanted to push her little baby stroller, instead of riding in her stroller. She went arse over applecart a couple of times because the front of her stroller disappeared into the potholes of our dirt road. Each time she got up crying – not because she was hurt but because she flipped over the little stroller and her baby got dirty. Are you kidding me? It took us 20 minutes to walk 1/4 mile, and that’s even with me picking her up and carrying her home the last 1/3 of the walk. I have about four new mosquito bites.

New word of the week: oo-aaaaaaaaaaaa = away. She’ll say it when we ask her to put her toys or shoes away. At daycare she & Alli had the two little vacuum cleaners out; when I told Mallory it was time to go, she said “oooo-aaaaaaaaa” and put the vacuum back against the wall where she found it. Then she took Alli’s and said “oooo-aaaaaaaaa Yaya” to tell me she was putting Alli’s away too. I seriously can’t stand it.

She is trying so hard to actually talk to us. In the car she’ll chatter away, with inflections in her voice, and I really believe she thinks she is saying some in English (rather than Mallorian).

We are going to Racine this weekend for Rick to do another triathlon. We’ll touch base with some of my cousins on Friday & Saturday and then the race is Sunday.
I apologize for the lack of pictures but I have been lacking. Got some cute pictures from our boat cruise with friends on Sunday but need to edit them before I share.
