Mallory

Mom-1, Yaya – Infinity

I am home sick again today (what is it with me and summer colds??). Anyway, this morning, Rick brought Mallory up to say goodbye to me and she was so sad. Usually when we say “go to school” she starts freaking out about getting to see YAYA and is in a big rush to get out the door!!

But not today. I was lying in bed among my piles of snotty Kleenexes and Mallory wouldn’t give me a hug or a kiss goodbye. She just kept saying “NOooooooooo Gaga” when he’d try to pick her up to leave. I *almost* thought about keeping her home with me but remembered that there would be no relaxing or nap taking if she was here so we sent her to school.

But it’s nice to know that for once, I beat Yaya, but I think the score is still way lopsided.

Funny story from this weekend I forgot to post. I’ve written before about Mallory’s funny hand signals she does when she wants me to sing different songs (slapping her thighs for Bah Bah Black Sheep, rolling her arms for The Wheels on the Bus, etc). But Sunday night in the car I saw a whole new one – she start rowing with her arms and saying “whoa whoa boat, mama”. So I sang the Mallory version: Row Row Row your boat, gently down the stream. Mallory, Mallory, Mallory, Mallory, life is but a dream.

Then she started doing something funny with her fingers so I started with The Itsy Bitsy Spider and she kept right along with the rain coming down (twinkling her fingers down), and the sun coming out (big spread open arms) and then itsy, bitsy spidering back up.

I love Benadryl – it finally kicked in and I’m feeling somewhat human, thank goodness. I may try to run into work for a bit and then get some errands done before picking up the pumpkinhead.
