Ok, men’s swimming is my favorite Olympic sport.

Go Blue
Strange Bedfellows
This morning we found Mallory with no less than ELEVEN bites all over her arms and feet (her only exposed skin while wearing her pjs). So she had some sort of hungry spider or mosquito hanging out with her all night last night. The nights are getting cooler so I’m wondering if the bugs are heading indoors or what. Luckily the bites don’t seem to bother her much but I had to call and warn my mom about them so she didn’t lecture me when she sees Mallory later today. “You need to keep those bugs out of her room! …
My Sweet Sleeper
Check out how we found Mallory last Saturday when we went to check on her after she’d fallen asleep.
* * *
We stopped by Rick’s work this afternoon so Mallory could say hi to her dad. We got there during one of the practices. Mallory was a little unsure, seeing all the big football players and clung to my leg most of the time. We stayed to watch them run about a dozen plays and whenever the QB threw the ball and the receiver didn’t catch it, Mallory cheered. So I scolded her for cheering for the missed ball.
Rick pointed out …
Go BooooO!!!
With just three weeks to go until the first football game, our training of Mallory has kicked into high gear. We’ve been getting “go boooo!” with a fist in the air pretty consistently and she will now say Go Blue if we say Michigan.
Next step was to teach her about how horrible The University of Ohio State is…and she will now say “boooooooo” when we say Ohio State.
But, then I remember we have to take the season one week at a time so we switched our focus to Utah. Just this morning we got her to say “boooooo oooo-teeeee” or …
Prayers for Jen
I know I haven’t been to church in a bajillion years, but if you are the praying or good wish thinking sort, please pray or think good thoughts for my good friend Jen. She is 24-weeks pregnant with triplets (2 boys, 1 girl!) and was admitted to the hospital yesterday because she started to have contractions. She will most likely be on bedrest for the duration of her pregnancy (they would like her to go another 10 weeks) but she isn’t sure if she has to serve that time in the hospital or if she can go home, where she …
Almost in Trouble
From the minute I picked her up from daycare yesterday, I was prepping Mallory for the fact that she was going to sleep in her OWN bed. I don’t mind letting her sleep in our bed as a treat but the night before last (Monday night) she ended up in our bed all night and I got zero sleep.
So, whenever I’d tell her “you are going to sleep in your own bed tonight!”, Mallory would reply, “mmmooooo”, while shaking her head, “mommy bee-bee (which I am guessing means bed)”.
Well, when it was time to put Mallory down, she protested for …
The music battles have already begun
I thought I’d have a decade or so before I had to fight over the radio in my car. But no.
My kid likes her kiddie music. You know – the Bah Bah Black Sheep, Wheels on the Bus, No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, the Itsy Bitsy Spider that I’ve had to sing in the car for the past month. I expanded our music collection to get more options and purchased a three-CD set of children’s music. I asked Rick if he needed a CD for his car and he said no. What? How does that work? If I …
A Three Hour Nap
Holy laziness. Mallory & I got up at 7a, then went down together for a nap in my bed at 10a, and didn’t wake up until ONE O’CLOCK! What a couple of lazy butts! And now she went down for the night at 7pm!!! Her schedule is going to need to be adjusted for the next month – with Rick having to go to work so early 6/6.30a-ish, she will have to be up a lot earlier than normal. Also – now that she is in the toddler room, they have a set nap time so she needs to be …
This is harder than last time
Holy cow it is harder being pregnant with a toddler than it was with just a clingy dog.
