Boat & Bed

Well, we didn’t make it to the apple orchard, the pumpkin farm, the zoo or get any yardwork done or go on a hayride. But we had a fun family day none-the-less.

Rick was home before Mallory & me yesterday, which is not normal Friday football season behavior. The three of us were able to take Cooper for a walk in the woods. Rick has been bugging me about walking (after I complain about not being able to go for my daily walks) and I think after our “walk” yesterday he gets why I don’t get out daily like I used to. Mallory is not a fan of the stroller anymore and doesn’t like riding in the big backpack carrier so we end up walking at a snails pace up the hill at the woods, which isn’t really exercise for me or Cooper. And usually her preferred method of “walking” is being carried by me, which I am not going to do and then she has a meltdown which makes the walk that much more fun. So anyway, it was nice to have his help yesterday so I could get a little bit of exercise; it’s so depressing to get out of breath walking up three flights of stairs in the parking structure at work. I need to figure something out because I know it’s not healthy for me or the pregnancy to be so inactive.

We went on a boat ride today – probably our last of the summer. We had a GORGEOUS day today, almost 80 degrees and sunny but not warm enough to go swimming. Here I am with our darling baby girl; it may look like she’s crabby but she is really in mid-“cheese”:

But the biggest news of the weekend is that Mallory got a big girl bed today! We thought she might be ready because she sleeps on a little cot at school; we have been briefly talking about when to move her since we don’t want her throwing Baby Arlo out of the crib because she still thinks the crib is hers. We were thinking of getting the bed around Christmas time but ended up just buying it today. She was pretty fired up about the new bed and as of this post, she has been quiet in her room for about an hour. I am anxious to go check on her but don’t want to disturb her if she is *almost* asleep.

But here she is testing out the new bed before story time.

That’s all for now. Happy Saturday!
