Arlo's BIG Ultrasound

Hard to believe it was time already, but we had our “big” ultrasound yesterday.

My favorite doctor, Dr B, actually did my ultrasound. Because she is doing a fellowship, she isn’t supposed to be actually seeing patients but it seems as though she is keeping up with me from behind the scenes and is looking out for me, which makes me happy!

Anyway, on to important stuff – the baby was SUPER active and according to the doctor, has BEAUTIFUL scapulas. I don’t remember our big scan with Mallory being this thorough so it was sort of interesting to see all the measurements they were taking. The doctor said everything looked PERFECT and that I was PERFECT (of course I looked at Rick and said – “see, I TOLD you I was perfect!”) and that all is well. Especially combined with our perfectly normal CVS results – we should have no worries. Dr B ended up doing my regular checkup right after the ultrasound (yeah for not having to get weighed) instead of sending me downstairs to see another doctor so I just asked her all of my questions. It is so interesting how much I don’t remember from my last pregnancy. I had to go get my flu shot today since I would have had that done at my appointment but I was able to just stop into the clinic.

The baby weighs about 8 ozs (which measures a little bit ahead of my 17w3d) and had a 149 bpm heartrate (add that to the BOY list since it’s under 150).

OK, this isn’t as interesting as I remember the appointment being. Sorry about that. I didn’t get to scan the pictures today so I’ll post those later this week.

I am about to post that big long “the road to Arlo” post I alluded to back in September. Click here to find it since I dated it back when I actually typed it up.

Also, I’m going to go back and type up my entries in my pregnancy journal from when  I was pregnant with Mallory so that they are all here for posterity, they will be posted under the category “baby Fred” if you want to go back and read them. Enjoy!
