This was the view of the lake out our front door a few weeks ago –
who wouldn’t love fall in Michigan? Aren’t those colors gorgeous??

Mallory has been obsessed with bawettes lately and on Sunday Rick was the unlucky recipient of her demands. This is how she came out of her room (be sure to click on the pictures to make them bigger) – darling, eh?

I think Mallory is fired up for Halloween tomorrow – she is all about pumpkins and every time she sees one she FREAKS OUT. Tonight she was playing with her trick-or-treat pumpkin and the two tiny real pumpkins we have, just talking to them and yelling at the dog if he got to close to her.
We were at Meijer tonight to get some paint to paint our pumpkins (since we never carved them) and this woman walked by with a cart full of pumpkins and Mallory was telling me all about those pumpkins and didn’t watch where she was going and all of a sudden she turned around and almost ran into another lady. Without me prompting her, she said “scuse me” and kept walking towards me. I was so proud of her manners and then I realized that I only have about three more years before she becomes that annoying 5-yr old in the store who talks to EVERY.SINGLE.PERSON who walks by about what she had for breakfast and what color underwear she is wearing that day. Wish me luck with that.
There is a Halloween parade at her school tomorrow and then tomorrow night we will go trick or treating with Alli. Mallory is going to be in heaven with all that candy :-)

A slightly related funny story. Mallory has started to yell “NO BARKING, DOGS” at the crazy dogs that live next door (these dogs really do bark all the time, to the point that we’ve called animal control and the people have gotten tickets). But now when we walk Cooper down the street and see other dogs barking, she yells at them too. It’s sort of embarrassing.

I feel as though these posts are lame lately and I apologize to you, Dear Reader. I think Baby Arlo is sucking up more of my brain the bigger s/he gets.
