I don’t know for sure that I had the most horrible heartburn ever last night. But I was rolling around in bed moaning & crying from 11p-2a, feeling like I was going to throw up in my mouth. And then I threw up in the toilet for the next five hours. Good times.
The doctor’s diagnosis over the phone is that I have a bug unrelated to pregnancy and heartburn. Blah. What does she know.
Either way, I spent today on the couch and Mallory still went to daycare (even though she told me she wanted to stay home with me on the couch). I have been able to eat seven oyster crackers today without throwing up and eventually ventured out to get four big bottles of grape Gatorade. I don’t have a headache anymore which was probably from dehydration; I was told not to drink water and not to drink soda and the only other thing I have in my house is beer and I probably shouldn’t drink that either and had forgotten about the apple juice in the fridge so that and the Gatorade have done the trick for the most part.
I think I’m going to go get Mallory from daycare, have an early dinner (is mac & cheese a good choice for an upset tummy?) and put both of us to bed early, even if it means letting her fall asleep in my bed. The alternative is leaving her at daycare, letting Rick get her at 5:45p and taking her back to football and then getting home at 7:30p. Selfishly that would be my first choice, since I don’t have the energy to play with her right now, but the best option for Mallory is to get home early and get to bed early.
So I’m off to daycare.
Oh, and if you are like Rick and don’t know what heartburn is – consider yourself lucky. I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone. Well, maybe one or two people but not anyone who reads this blog.
