Mallory’s new thing this past week or so is wanting us to help her because she says she is a little baby. If she wants us to feed her, she’ll say “feed me like a little baby” and then she’ll start this super high-pitched baby talk. It makes me want to laugh soooooo hard but I don’t think we should encourage her to act like this since pretty soon (13-ish weeks, to be exact) there will be a real live little baby living here.

Another new thing lately is her telling us “NO HELP ME, my do it”. She’s been wanting to do stuff on her own for a while but the new funny part is her telling us she wants to do it by herself. She wants to put her pants and shirts on all by herself and gets so ornery if you even try to help make sure they are going on the right way. She’ll usually end up asking for help to get the pants up over her diaper. She also can pull her own pants off which is a contributing factor to why she is pantless in almost every video lately.
A side effect of her pulling off her own pants, is that she can get her diaper off. This isn’t normally an issue but I read somewhere that one thing that can help with potty training is to dump poop from the diaper into the toilet so the kid can see what is supposed to happen. Well, the stinker kid of ours went poopy in her diaper the other day without Rick or me knowing about it, and next thing you know, she’s naked with her diaper in her hands…and the diaper has a couple of hard poops in it and she was heading to our toilet to dump out the poops. Gotta give her props for imitating us but I am not sure I like that she is walking around the house with her diapers like that. But she usually tells us when she is poopy and we’ll get all excited thinking she wants to go poopy on the potty but she ends up just telling us “you change my diaper” or “new diaper” because she’s already gone poopy. She tries to sit on the potty at least once a day but so far we have had no production. Rick would love to have her out of diapers before Arlo comes so we only have to buy diapers for one kid but I want to follow Mallory’s lead on this one. She does know that you are supposed to read a book when you are going potty and the other day when she followed me to the bathroom, she brought me one of her books and held it up for me like I imagine her teachers do when they read a book to the class. Hysterical.

We did some more rearranging tonight; after our second trip to IKEA (in three days…Rick loves that store), we got a new computer desk and moved the computer back downstairs from our bedroom. So we are trying to take inventory of Mallory’s way too big toy collection and asked her which toys we could take to Gigi’s basement. But next thing we knew she wanted to take all of her stuff to Gigi’s house. That was also pretty funny.
And one last funny thing – she says “Hey mom, hey mom!” when she is trying to get my attention – usually when we’re walking through a store, or something.
