Question: “Hey Sam! How great were the pictures you took of Mallory’s first sledding trip?”
Can you believe it?? I was SUCH a slacker mom today. We took Cooper to the woods today and brought the little sled for Mallory. At the top of the dirt road hill that we walk up, there is another PERFECT sledding hill. Rick & Mallory went down the hill a bunch of times and I got NONE of it on film. She had a TOTAL blast and kept telling daddy to do it “adain”. It’s supposed to be in the 40s and rainy tomorrow so we will have to wait a week to try sledding again.

One of my greatest holiday memories from when I was little is spending the Sunday before Christmas at my Auncy & Uncle Beaky’s house (Auncy [Aunt Nancy] is my mom’s sister). We would do family Christmas with my mom’s side of the family and we ALWAYS got to decorate a bajillion sugar cookies in my aunt’s huge kitchen.
Luckily my sister also enjoyed the tradition and has ensured we keep it going. Mallory & I went to Emily’s yesterday to decorate about two bajillion sugar cookies with Mallory’s cousins, but first Mallory got to eat one of the cookies my sister had already made (peanut butter cookies with a Hershey’s kiss in the middle).
Mallory had fun decorating cookies and a couple times we caught her trying to eat both plain & frosted cookies. I realized it’s a good thing we never let her salt her own food because the amount of sprinkles she poured on the cookies was obnoxious.

Before we decorated cookies, Mallory & I ran some errands; we hit the scrapbook store (I do NOT like the new smaller location) and the dog food store. I told Mallory to pick out a rawhide for Cooper for a Christmas present and we put it in a little paper bag for her to carry. She was holding on to that bag for dear life the whole way home and I kept telling her that it was for Cooper for Christmas and that we would have to hide it when we got home so Cooper wouldn’t find it. She kept talking about how we had to hide it, etc.
Well, this morning she ran downstairs to get something and came back upstairs holding that little bag…and of course the dog was hot on her trail. He had his nose inside that bag and almost got the rawhide. We found a better hiding spot (ie – out of Mallory’s reach).
these photos make me really wish jackson didn’t have so many allergies so i could bake cookies with him and watch him enjoying chocolate and ice cream and so many things that he can’t have!! also it made me REALLY want to eat peanut butter blossom cookies – but i would have to get up off my butt and make them first – with both kids sleeping i don’t think i will be moving until i hear some screaming (: what scrapbook store do you go to? i told you a long time ago that jack’s scrapbook is totally broken – but i have all the pages (a TON) and want to invest in a really good book that can hold them all and last for a LONG time – i also have to buy a book for alexis but will probably wait until all the pages are finished – not sure when i will have time to actually do her scrapbook!!!
