One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to make the cruise up the chain of lakes to Zukey Lake Tavern. It takes us about 1.5 hours each way and there are always other boats to look at and say hi to, and turtles to watch for so Mallory is mildly entertained. That and we always have friends with us to make the trip :-)
This past weekend we had D&S and their three kids come out. Their oldest, B, is a big fan of Mallory’s, and I think you can tell from the pictures below that the …

Well….
So far so good. We’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow. The pregnancy tests are getting darker and the beta numbers are getting larger.
Please please please let this one stick.
Mine!!
When we were at Disney in May, we rode the Finding Nemo ride. Seeing as how Mallory was only 18 months old at the time, we haven’t had to get into Disney stuff just yet. Out in front of the ride, they had those birds from the movie (I think they were seagulls?) saying “MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE”. It was pretty funny even though we’d never seen the movie. Mallory got a kick out of them, kneeling down to watch them under the fence.
Well, Mallory’s new word at home is “MINE!”. Whenever she sees something she wants, she yells …
Mommy, Gaga, Buhbuh and Baby
I was trying to find info on what it’s called when someone always refers to themselves in the third person, because my kid is going through that stage. And because she can’t (or won’t) say her real name, she calls herself baby. There are a bunch of examples of how she does this, but of course I can’t think of any right now.
Randomness – July 11-style
Forgot to post about Mallory eating s’mores before the fireworks. I roasted a marshmallow and we piled it on the graham cracker and chocolate bar. I offered Mallory a bite and she bit in and pulled away while still having the entire chocolate bar still in her teeth. I was cracking up.
Her newish thing is her insistence on going up & down stairs without holding on to a railing or an adult. This doesn’t crack me up – her growing independence frightens and saddens me.
One of the pre-school teachers at Mallory’s daycare told me the other day that …

It’s been a hectic week – hope to catch up this weekend. I have a draft post started with my story ideas, and should bang that out this weekend.
To hell & back
Ever since we learned that one of the guys on the recent season of Survivor was from the town next to us, and that he worked at the local ice cream shop, we have been meaning to check it out. The ice cream place is in a city called Hell and the shop is decked out like a Halloween store. Mallory got herself some Superman ice cream, and perfected her “more bite” as she inhaled the goods.

This is the sweetest little picture.
I was all ready to put Mallory in the bathtub when Rick got home from …
I am already not a fan of Adid.as
This is supposed to be a quiet month work-wise for my husband.
But due to the arrival of about four million pairs of new Adid.as shoes, he is working like a madman.
Argh.
She is her mother’s daughter
Good girl.
This just heard
Mallorian: “Bahbah, go mama? Bahbah?”
English: “Cooper, where did Mama go? Cooper?”
