I have to follow-up on our big walk in the woods we had last night. Normally Cooper is PASSED OUT after those walks, which makes them worth it – it’s good exercise for both of us but the best part is that he is too tired to shadow me around the house and stuff.
Last night though – when Rick got home – Cooper started doing laps with his stuffed lion in his mouth. I told Cooper that maybe we won’t go on any more walks since it apparently doesn’t wear him out. Smart puppy that he is, he immediately stopped …

Outside Baby
Keeping with her new obsession of wanting to be outside all the time – we immediately went outside after school yesterday. I figured Mallory would go up & down the slide and I could throw the ball for Cooper. But that lasted about 5 seconds, and then Mallory wanted to throw the ball for Cooper. And that didn’t work out so well since she couldn’t actually throw the ball using the ball launcher. Cooper was so good & patient for about a minute and then he just tried to chase the ball while in the ball launcher which pi$$ed Mallory …
Who does she look like?
We get this a lot. When Mallory was little-little I thought she was ALL Rick – the round face, dark eyes. Then I think she went through a phase where she looked like me – since her cheeks were getting Sammie-sized. And we get some random “she looks just like your dad (ie – my dad, Mallory’s grandpa)!” comments, which are interesting…must be the lack of hair and big tummy? Just kidding grandpa…
But seriously – looking back at our baby pictures, I think I see more of me in her now than Rick. She still has Rick’s eyes but the …
Spring Cleaning
I had a relaxing family-free sick day today; Rick & Mallory got home late this afternoon after hanging out at the softball game. When they got home, Rick wanted to do some spring cleaning in the yard and I begged him to keep Mallory with him. I was feeling a little better at this point but not well enough to listen to “mamamamamama” and “upupupupupupupupup” non-stop. But I was feeling well enough to try to do a little cleaning inside ~ when I was putting clothes away in Mallory’s room, this is what I saw outside her window:

Now for the bad news
Add this to my list of irritating things about my kid being sick: she gave it to me. Dammit, Jim. I was up all night and still feel like crapola this morning – Miss Cheri just came to rescue Mallory so I can go back to bed. Of course I am thinking “but maybe I am feeling well enough to scrapbook?” but instead I think I’ll go have a date with Harry Potter (still on book 5) and take a nap.
Look at the bright side
My sweet baby is sick. She threw up today for the first & second time in her short 16.9 mos of life. This is mildly irritating for a few reasons: 1) I’m missing our big monthly mandatory staff meeting at work for the second month in a row; 2) I have used a lot of sick time in one four-week period; and 3 ) we are supposed to go to the Wings-Blue Jackets game tonight.
But the bright sides are these: 1) I’m missing our big monthly mandatory staff meeting at work for the second month in a row; 2) I …

Today is my birthday…
I love having my birthday on April Fool’s day…it seems like I get the most random birthday emails from the most random people…usually along the lines of “how could I forget your birthday…it’s the day of fools!”, etc, etc.
We went to dinner last night at Outback (fancy, schmancy) since we weren’t going to have time to go to a nice dinner tonight because of Rick’s insane work schedule. We usually try to take advantage of the “buy one, get one free on your birthday” meals at the fancy restaurants downtown, or at least hit the ones that …

Wow…three posts in one day
I know I’ve posted a similar picture, but these pictures have corresponding video. Mallory tossed her big Easter ball into the bathtub and went in headfirst to try to get it out:
And here is the best part…watch her head when I ask her if she needs help:
Big shoes
Mallory is obsessed with shoes. I think most kids go through this phase so it’s nothing unique to our pumpkin-head but I still find it hysterical to see her constantly want to put shoes on, especially when they are her little flip-flops that we need to jam over her fat little feet and only stay on for about three steps before she steps out of them. So I guess she thought she’d try a bigger pair of flip-flops:

We had an incident on the escalator at my work yesterday in her old pedipeds and they got a little chewed …
