Cooper & his friends

March 30, 2008

We went to watch the Michigan hockey game at a friend’s house Friday night and Cooper got to see three of his best friends – CJ, Fenway & Lexie. They all got a Frosty Paw treat during intermission.
Lexie, Cooper, Fenway, Lexie’s neighbor Ruby, and CJ
The best part is that Cooper is EXHAUSTED when we come home and usually sleeps in a little bit in the morning :-)

Steal from the rich…give to the poor

March 27, 2008

Punky-Poo-Loo has a new nickname: Robin Hood. She will go into the coin jar in our closet, grab as many coins as she can (somehow it ends up being mostly quarters?) and will then go down to her room to put the coins in her piggy bank. She probably “makes” about a dollar a day. Smart girl.

Ok – I love snow. Really, I really do. But for crying out loud – can it stop? We are supposed to get 1-4 inches tonight. I am done-done-done with the snow.

I big-fat-puffy-heart it when my kid goes …

Mallory

March 26, 2008

Notice Mallory’s boo-boo from her wipe-out in Gigi’s driveway on Easter. Poor kid has more scars…
Kisses & hugs for dad & mom
Knuckles – Biggie taught Mallory how to “punch it out”. She is now completely obsessed with giving knuckles to everyone – including the dog.
And a final funny picture:

"It's all her fault"

March 26, 2008

Mals goes to Uncle Mikey & Auntie Em’s on Wednesday.
I set her Princess boots out for Rick to take today so she could play outside with Lauren.
My sister said that no Princess boots arrived with Mallory today, so I asked Rick about them. His response?
“Ooops. I forgot. But it’s all Mallory’s fault because she moved them from the door to the kitchen when I was making my smoothie.”
For some reason I laughed out loud that he is blaming this on her.

MORE-PLEASE-EAT

March 25, 2008

Last night after we cleaned up after dinner, I cut myself a piece of Turtle Pie (leftover dessert from Easter dinner). I asked Mallory if she wanted some…we got her into her booster and she started pointing & grunting. I told her to use her words and tell mama what she wanted.
In rapid fire succession she signed “MORE-PLEASE-EAT”.
‘Atta girl.

Just in case anyone doubted that Mallory was on TV this week…here she is over Hitchcock’s right shoulder. :-)

Happy Easter!

March 23, 2008

I was so excited about Easter – because it was the first time Mallory could really get into the holiday (sure she went trick-or-treating but she didn’t understand the whole get dressed up, go up to the door, ring the bell, say “trick or treat” thing).
We dyed Easter eggs yesterday without much of a mess, and whatever dye Mallory splashed on herself she just licked off her fingers. Nice.

The Easter Bunny came and hid exactly 25 eggs; we asked him to only hide plastic eggs because otherwise Cooper would eat them…plus then if Mallory missed …

Gentle

March 21, 2008

When Mallory gets grumpy and starts hitting me we always remind her to be “gentle” – and then she will rub my face or my hand. It’s pretty sweet because she’ll stroke both of my cheeks with both hands and look so cute. It’s hard because when she is asked to be gentle it’s because she was doing something naughty in the first place so I don’t want to reward the being gentle thing too much for fear that it will encourage her to hit me so she can rub my face after. Perhaps I am overthinking.
Anyway, the funny …

Go Blue (Jackets)!

March 20, 2008

Mallory got to see her second ever NHL game last night (her first being when she was 6 weeks old…). We had sweet seats again for the Blue Jackets-Red Wings game and Mallory got on tv a lot because she was mostly standing right behind Hitch.
I guess there were a couple of spots where she got some good exposure because at two points during the game, both Rick’s & my cell phones were blowing up with texts and voicemails. My mom would call and leave a message with the time left in the game and what she saw. How nice …

Tiny Bubbles

March 18, 2008

We are making progress in our swim class – Mallory has always enjoyed it but just Monday night started actually blowing bubbles in the water. Here she is practicing in the bathtub. Please, please, please ignore my crazy mom cheers in the background. I almost edited out the sound but then realized you wouldn’t be able to hear her bubble-blowing. Enjoy.

The other day when I picked my pumpkinhead up from school, I asked about the food we send for her. She gets breakfast, snack, lunch, and a second snack at school; I was wondering if a single grilled …
