Check out Mallory’s double whammy bloody nose and bloody lip. This is what happens when she runs through the kitchen and the dog blows by her.
I heard her fall but she does it so much that I didn’t go to her right away (she almost always gets herself up and continues on her way). But she let go with such a scream and then I saw the blood coming from two places – scared the bejeezus out of me. After a little mom cuddling and a few run-throughs of her new “Fancy Nancy” book and she was …

This
This is what winter is all about. Big snow followed by a day off to recover from the big snow, light snow today, a little more snow forecasted for tomorrow.
I like this way better than the snow, 50 degrees, snow, rain, snow, 60 degrees pattern we’ve had so far this winter.
I love all the seasons, but when they are supposed to be here. 60 degrees & rain is fine, in the spring. 60 degrees & rain in the winter – blech. How depressing.
Bring on the snow!!
Best Friends
Mallory’s friend Alli came home with us after daycare today – her mom & dad both had to work late and Mallory & I had no plans after school so Alli got to come play :-)
It was good for Mallory to have to share her toys and her stuff. She is pretty territorial – she’s only had kids over here to play a handful of times so I was interested to see how she’d do. She didn’t do so hot with the sharing.
Here are some fun pictures of the girls from their playdate:
Poor Super Coop…he was way more …
Naming Babies
Got this email from my dear college friend Kyle today. His wife is due February 14th with a boy. I asked if they were sharing names:
I have always thought I’d name my baby after whoever was in the news the day he was born. That made for conversation during the Super Bowl if my son were born Sunday and Plaxico was the MVP. Justin (one of Kyle’s best friends) named his son Eli, so that was off the table AND Vicki is still pregnant. Super Tuesday came and went so Barack is gone, too.
LOL.
Weekend Update
I think this is a record for length of time between posts, at least lately. I think I had been pretty good about getting something up at least every other day but life has been hectic lately I guess.
In the midst of the hectic-ness, I got myself a fancy massage. I really wanted to get one at the fancy spa at our hotel in Guam but my WWRS (What Would Rick Say) bracelet kept me from dropping the $$ on it. So I waited til we got home so I could use my gift certificates to the Aveda Salon here …
She's a lot cuter now…
Here is Mallory at ~20 weeks. Who knew she’d grow into such a funny little girl? (The belly is the same though, that’s for sure).
Dad rocks
Go Rick! Two nights of bottle-free successful bedtimes. I didn’t even know about the Wednesday night being bottle-free until last night. I guess I can put “pack up bottles” on the weekend to-do list. *Sniff*.
"Who Cares"
So I have this survey thing to see what people thought about me creating a second blog to I could keep family stuff separate from Mallory stuff. I have a whopping six responses. Five answered that they like everything together. But today someone answered the survey with the third option I gave, which is “Who cares – this blog is dumb”.
I was laughing out loud. No one was supposed to actually pick that option!!
What do I say?
I don’t even know how to title this post. So I’ll just jump into the stories:
Mallory likes to help give Cooper dinner. Usually she is happy with giving him his arthritis pill and then showing me where his bowl is so I can dump his food.
Tonight, she reached for the cup we use for his food so I let her at it. This is a one-cup plastic measuring cup, filled to the brim with little pebbles of dog food. She immediately tips it and some of the food dumps on the carpet. She loses it and starts crying. I tell …
Gone in 60 seconds
Mallory just ate an entire hotdog in 60 seconds. I am so not exaggerating.
