Waterpark Fun

We went to the waterpark with Alli and her folks on Sunday. The girls were *so* excited to see each other after the long break because of Christmas & New Years.

The waterpark is pretty cool – they had a great kiddie pool with a slide (see video below) and then a lazy river with a little side pool with a bench all the way around that the girls put a lot of miles on. And they serve beer! Not that I had any but I think Rick was wishing he didn’t have a hockey game later that night.

Both girls loved the little slides in the kiddie pools. They went down them a hundred times. Then Mallory saw some of the boys going down head first and next thing we know, she is going down head first. I.WAS.DYING.

The funny thing is that the girls were eventually told to only go down feet first, so Mallory started to go down with her arms crossed, and then we showed her how to go down with her arms up in the air, as if she was riding a roller coaster.

Just before we had lunch, Mallory & I went to change her diaper. As I was getting her back in her bathing suit, I asked her if she wanted a hamburger for lunch. She was mopey because she didn’t want her bathing suit back on and then she wanted Rick to put it on her so when I asked about the hamburger, she grumpily answered “no, fwench fwies”. There was a lady coming out of one of the stalls and she was laughing at Mallory.

OH – and before we left for the park, Mallory didn’t want to go with us – she kept telling us “stay home. you daddy go.” Even telling her that Alli was going to be there wasn’t enough. But when we explained that she was going to get to go SWIMMING with ALLISON – that was the combo that made her want to go with us. She kept telling us “swim cwass (class) Yaya”.

I haven’t gotten the report from Alli’s mom yet about how quickly Alli fell asleep in the car after they left the waterpark, but Mallory was out five minutes after we hit the expressway.

  1. OMG that looks like it was a ball! I cannot imagine Alex going on a water slide yet. Where was this at?
