Still pregnant.
But there is an end in sight. For reals this time.
I had my weekly NST this morning and saw Dr B after. Baby looked fine on the monitors but my amniotic fluid levels dropped dramatically from last week. It is still in the normal range so Dr B thinks maybe I did more activity this weekend (um, not really) or didn’t drink much water as I should so she wants to check it again on Thursday. I am to head to Triage if at any time I feel the baby isn’t moving as much as “normal”. She also made sure I had my bag packed, carseat installed and coverage for Mallory.
So the plan on Thursday is to have the fluid levels checked again, and if they dropped more, I get to leave (so I can have a good last meal) and then report back to the hospital to get induced a few hours later. But if the levels are fine, I will continue to be pregnant until something else happens. Or doesn’t happen.
I am hoping to avoid an induction, just because I’ve heard the drugs they give you for the induction make labor more painful than just regular labor.
We’ll see how Arlo does with this first big “do what mommy says” test.
wow – it could be in 2 days! by the way, if you see me lurking around the halls outside your room it isn’t because i am stalking you and your birth! i have been up at the NICU at UM a lot and i am sure will be there a few more times this week – i am sure you saw my post about my friend’s babies – so if you see me i am not stalking!!!
