Mallory found my credit card today and wanted to play with it; I told her to be careful (ie DON’T LOSE IT) and she assured me she would be careful. Off she went.
This is how I next saw her, and her accompanying dialogue was this: “I bought some stuff, mommy. I get bip-bops (flip-flops) and cwocs (crocs).” Notice she is carrying a flip-flop and a croc.

It was pretty cold here today but the sun was shining and the ground was frozen so Mallory & I bundled up and headed outside with Cooper. I picked up some more dog poop and Mallory ran around yelling at Cooper for who knows what. But the best part is that I came inside and left the two of them outside and they played for another 15 minutes or so. The frozen ground is important because it meant I wouldn’t have to deal with a muddy Mallory or a muddy Cooper if I left them outside for a bit. Mallory did come inside twice, once to tell me that Cooper’s ball was stuck under the woodpile (so I had to go get it out) and another time to ask for help (getting her little plastic Adirondack chair out of her little house).
I had aspirations of getting a ton of stuff done with my empty house, but instead found myself standing in the bedroom window watching them play. I was most happy that Cooper was running around playing even though I wasn’t out there since he isn’t the kind of dog who will entertain himself outside.

One other random thing. Mallory came out of her room today and said “Hi Mommy!”. I said back “Hi!”. Then she said “what’s up?”. I giggled and said “what did you just say?”. She said “I said what’s up, mommy.”
Hysterical. Freaking hysterical.
