Not sure if “thinking out loud” is the right terminology since blogging isn’t really “out loud” but whatever.
I’m sitting here scrapbooking but I’m finding it hard to concentrate with the acrobatics going on in my stomach. It is amazing that there is a little baby in there. A little baby that we will meet sometime in the next couple of weeks.
I know I keep saying that I’m fine with this weekend or even next week, as long as I’m not late, and I’m telling the truth. But the crazy thing is that for as much as I say next week is fine…in reality — the baby could really come at any time now.
I just had a minor freakout thinking “OMG – my water could break RIGHT NOW while I’m in the middle of posting this story and then OMG I would need to go the hospital now".
Or I could finish this post, and get back to scrapping and then think “Hmmm…my tummy hurts. Oh, and my back too. Like every five minutes. And it hurts a LOT. OMG it’s ALMOST time to go to the hospital!”
Or, I could finish this post, and get back to scrapping for a bit and then go get Mallory and go to the grocery store and come home and make dinner and go to sleep and wake up tomorrow and the next day and the next 14 days after that before Baby Arlo decides to make an appearance. And reading this post from when I was 38w1d with Mallory (I am 38w4d today) – the message sounds the same (this baby is either running receiver routes in my belly or is practicing chasing cooper around.). Mallory wasn’t born for another almost three weeks after that 38w1d post…I sure hope this kid isn’t that comfortable. But it is nice not having the added pressure of how to plan going into labor around Rick’s fall football schedule (ie, in October/November 2006, going into labor on a Saturday afternoon would have been less than ideal).
i can’t wait to find out if arlo is a girl or a boy!!! i remember these last few weeks and it feels like they were just yesterday, not 17 weeks ago!!! i hope you are able to update your blog when its time to go in – every time is see a new post in my email i quickly scan it for key words like BABY TIME, LABOR, HOSPITAL, CONTRACTIONS!!!
