40w5d Baby Arlo Update

I just realized that I hadn’t posted a proper Baby Arlo update yet today!

So, still here, and still pregnant.

It’s my birthday and while I wasn’t real excited about sharing my birthday, I’d be more excited to have a baby so I’ll learn to share if need be.

I realized today that I am in the middle of my FOURTH WEEK of maternity leave. Some guys at my work were joking that I probably lied about my due date just to have some extra time off, that I probably am not really due until June 1. Um, if this belly has two more months to get bigger, I am in HUGE trouble.

It has been nice to have some time off to just relax but I was not prepared for it to be this much time off. Luckily it is all 100% paid and does not affect my paid time off if after the baby comes. People have asked if I kept Mallory home with me and the answer is a resounding HELL NO! I was looking forward to having a week or two to myself, but had I known it was going to be 4-ish weeks – I might have reduced her to part-time and tried to save a little money (not sure if daycare would have been OK with me changing her schedule for such a short time but I would have looked into it had I known how freaking stubborn this baby was).

Rick is bringing home pizza for dinner and I have my favorite cake in the fridge. I guess there is still time for this baby to come today. I tried taking a long walk down the street with the dog today, but all that resulted from that is Cooper limping again.
