*Had Carson’s follow-up doctor’s appointment on Friday. Jaundice is almost all the way gone, he is back up to his birth weight and we have to go back in 3 weeks to have the bumps on his head checked on. The doctor seemed to think that they had already started to go down in size even from our appointment on Tuesday but I can’t tell.
*Carson & I spent Friday after his appointment shopping & eating with my mom, my sister and Emily’s mother-in-law. My mom got Carson & Mallory some cute outfits and one of the shirts she got Carson is my new favorite in his wardrobe. It’s hysterical. I also returned the baby girl clothes I bought at Baby.Gap a few weeks ago – it was so sad to say goodbye to that awesome flamingo skort. But all of a sudden the boy clothes looked almost as appealing as the girl clothes. I was good though – I just returned the girl stuff and didn’t get anything else new for Carson. We have had a couple of friends offer boy hand-me-downs and that, combined with my sister’s stash, will make for a very large collection of clothes for baby boy. We are very lucky.
*We decorated eggs Friday night – and of course I didn’t get any pictures (not sure if this is my new subconscious way of not getting behind on my scrapping – if I don’t take pictures, I won’t have anything to scrap and thus won’t get farther behind?). Rick had the video camera rolling so I’ll post that video when he edits it. Mallory said we had to color “Easter Bunny Eggs” (not Easter eggs) and was adamant about using that little wire dipper thingy all by herself (“DON’T HELP ME!”).
*Saturday we were out & about most of the day. We headed in for the Michigan spring football game/practice – Mallory wasn’t impressed and Carson slept through the whole thing. The weather was great and they had a HUGE turnout for the game, it was just amazing. We then stopped by the softball game for a few minutes and then the plan was to go to to Rick’s hockey game. But by the time we got to the rink, I had two passed out kids in the backseat of the car. Being the super great mom that I am, I sat in the car in the parking lot of the rink for 20 minutes just enjoying the quiet! I then realized that I hadn’t nursed Carson for a while so we skipped the hockey game so I could come home to pump. Of course Mallory woke up when we got home and was mildly cranky. Argh.
*This morning we woke up and had to remind Mallory that the Easter Bunny came. I asked her if she heard Cooper bark in the middle of the night and if maybe he was barking at the Easter Bunny. Mallory told me that Cooper was barking at the Easter Bunny’s car. And that the Easter Bunny drives a BLUE car. She found all of the eggs that the bunny left for her and is happy about the candy. She also got a little nerf golf set.
*OH – forgot about this. The other day she came into the living room and told me “we got you BEER!” – she was remembering a few weeks ago when she & Rick ran to the grocery and they picked me up some fake beer. Will be fun to have her fetch real beers for me this summer ;-)
We’ll end this post with a bunch of pictures.
Mallory lining up BabyDolly and Dolly and then asking me to take a picture of them:
Rick reading to the kids (OMG I have KIDS – PLURAL!):
Mallory going pee-pee on the potty, reading People Magazine (not sure where she learned this):
Rick has a project involving me and a growing belly and ending with Carson in front of my tummy.
I’ll post that when he’s done with it but in the meantime I thought this was a cute picture of Carson:
And finally – the many faces of Baby Carson:
The second to last picture cracks me up – all he does is sleep all day so not sure what he’s so tired for?
You are so blessed to have these two beautiful children. And OMG that one with Carson in front of your belly is amazing to imagine all 10 lbs 8 oz of him was in there just a little over a week ago. Great photo.
Hugs, Nina
