Happy Memorial Day

Well, more catching up to do.

Rick’s dad & his wife were in town this past weekend visiting from Florida (or “Flor-did-da”, as Mallory likes to say). We had a pretty low-key weekend planned, with only two agenda items: watch Michigan play softball and get the lights working on the boat trailer. I’m happy to say the boat trailer lights work and that Michigan softball is headed to the World Series.

But I am a little sad that softball won because it means my 7-wk old baby now has to start daycare two weeks earlier than we had planned; Rick had been watching Carson in the mornings while I worked half-days so either I burn all my vacation time and stay home full time the next two weeks with Carson or we send him to daycare early. Seeing as how the ladies in the infant room at Mallory & Carson’s daycare have been DYING to get their hands on my son, I guess it’s not a totally bad thing he has to start now. But now I’m scrambling to get bottles prepared & labeled, and clothes marked with his name (I’m going to have to take about five back-up outfits for him just in case he pees through them like he does at home!).

So I’m flying solo with Mallory & Carson & Cooper for maybe nine days. Then Rick will be home for three and then he leaves again for a conference for four days. So if you are reading this and feel like bringing me food or coming and holding a baby (hint, hint, Mom & Dad), you know where to find me.
