Mallory’s language development and usage is killing me. Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth…I have NO idea how she comes up with it.
Yesterday leaving daycare, I asked her to leave her coat on because we were leaving. She kept unzipping it and trying to take it off. Then Princess Sassy Pants told me “Don’t tell me about my coat!”.
I was SURE I hadn’t heard her right, so I asked her to repeat herself. Again she said “DON’T tell me about my COAT!” while she continued to pull her arms out.

Before bed last night, Mallory went to say goodnight to Rick. He asked for a hug and Princess Sassy Pants told him “no, just a kiss”. I thought maybe this was just for dad but when I asked for my goodnight hug & kiss and she cut me off after the kiss too, saying “no, just a kiss”.

Mallory woke up just as I was leaving the house this morning and she didn’t want me to leave. She told me, with tears starting, that she wanted me to be here all day (not sure why, since she was going to school? Anyway…). I reassured her that she was going to have fun at school and that we had a fun weekend planned. I also asked her to be a good girl for daddy when he got her ready for school.
Fast forward an hour when I called to see how the morning was going and if Mallory was cooperating. Rick had me on speakerphone and I told him that Mallory said she’d be good for him. Rick asked Mallory “you told mommy you would be good for daddy?”.
Princess Sassy Pants’ response? “No, MOMMY said that”.
Don’t you just love it??? Make sure you document it all! These moments are priceless!
