My new favorite photo of my baby boy Carson.
Carson. My sweet child who can be put down in his crib awake and will fall asleep without crying and waking up his big sister. My sweet little boy who wakes up only once in the night to eat and even then it’s really only like a tiny little appetizer and then he goes right back to sleep. We’ve been putting him back to sleep in the pack-n-play in our room but I think we could actually put him back in his crib. But the only reason I wouldn’t do this is because he tends to like to start stirring earlier than we would want Mallory up so maybe we’ll just keep him in our bedroom a little while longer. He’s been getting 4oz bottles at school but I think we need to up that. I found a milk calculator online and it has you plug in how many times the baby eats and then tells you how big each bottle should be. Since he’s really only eating five times a day (three times at school and two times in the evening plus his mini-snack in the middle of the night), the calculator says he should be eating 5-ish oz bottles. And then another thing I found said to multiply their weight by 2.5 and then divide that by how many times they eat – and that came out to 6-ish oz bottles. We have his two-month check-up on Friday so we’ll see what the doctor says about all that.
I feel badly because it seems all we do with Carson is try to get him to fall asleep so we can put him down. It seems like with Mallory we used to hold her all of the time; I think part of it had to do with it being winter when she was a baby so it was easier to be lazy and just sit on the couch with her. But I’m sure the biggest part of it has to do with the fact that Mallory didn’t have a 2.5 year old big sister bossing everyone around. So I’m trying to spend more time just holding him and cuddling with him since every day that goes by is one day closer to him not wanting to cuddle with his mom.
His hair is still pretty light and his eyes still seem blue but not as bright as they were a couple of weeks ago. He is wearing 6-9 month sleepers (anything smaller gives him a wedgie) but he can still do 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes if it’s a regular shirt or pants.
His hair looks much darker now and he is looking more like you and less like Mallory….So cute
Hugs,
Terry
