I was pretty excited for the 4th of July weekend – since it is the only holiday that Rick doesn’t have to work. I guess he doesn’t have to work Thanksgiving weekend but that holiday always has family & travel stuff associated with it. The good thing about 4th of July is that we can just hang out at home and enjoy the lake.
We boated up the chain with my folks on Friday. The weather wasn’t great – it was grey and sort of chilly. Mallory kept saying she wanted to go swimming but it was way too cold.
Saturday we went to the parade in Brighton with Alli & her folks. The girls really liked the candy that the floats threw at them and Carson proved he is all boy by having a grumpy moment that stopped COMPLETELY when he heard the big fire trucks roll by.
We had some friends come out to our house in the afternoon with their twins – Jake & Aly (Mallory was excited to have TWO friends name Aly/Alli coming over!). We had a bonfire going – for s’mores and also so we could burn our old American flag that was all tattered.
And then the girls had fun with sparklers:
Rick’s idea to slow the shutter down – cool, huh?
We watched the fireworks show from the lot across the street from our house – I’ll share Rick’s fireworks pictures another day. I have to get our ribs going for dinner!
Great photos….you’re a pro!
Keep them coming.
