Alli’s mom came across a “Little Scientist” camp that she thought would be fun for the girls. But it is, of course, held during the work day which doesn’t work so great for poor children who’s parents both work full time. Miss-scene (how Mallory says Alli’s mom’s name…) figured that between the four parents, we could each take both girls one week of the camp.
Of course Rick drew the first week because it was the only time he could go since football hadn’t started yet. He said it wasn’t very exciting, etc, etc, in usual Rick fashion.
Alli’s dad had the second week of camp and also reported that it was “lame” and “boring”.
So this week was finally a mom week to take the girls and I was excited to get a real report on how Science Camp went from Miss Christine.
Apparently the girls were beyond excited to be riding in the same car together. And they kept asking each other “are you so excited to go to science camp?”.
It’s my turn on Monday to take the girls. I’ll be sure to share my pictures and the ones Alli’s mom took next week some time.
Anyway……
Science camp is turning Mallory into a bug lover. She used to freak when she’d see a spider (after going through a period where she’d help me kill them by getting a kleenex and grabbing it and flushing it down the toilet) but tonight, after seeing this on her little picnic table, she called me outside and declared:
“I like spiders!”
(It really sounded like “I like thpiderth” though.)
